How to convert HEIC to WebP
- Drop .heic or .heif from Files or Photos.
- Convert on the server. Download WebP, or a ZIP of several.
- If a portal then rejects WebP, run WebP to JPG.
- Delete when you have the files. They are deleted within 1 hour.
WebP is not JPEG
Older Windows apps still choke on WebP. Use JPEG when the other side is a form.
Transparency is uncommon on camera HEIC; the WebP stays opaque.
