Dimensions or framing?
Resize image changes width and height in pixels. Crop image removes the area outside your selection. For a form with a fixed shape, crop first and then resize to the required dimensions. Neither a width in pixels nor a print size tells you the final file size in KB.
A sideways photo or a mirrored selfie
Use Rotate image for a photo turned on its side. Use Flip image when left and right need to swap. Check lettering and faces in the downloaded image. Add image background fills transparent areas with a colour; it does not remove the background behind a person.
Location tags and visible personal details
Remove EXIF removes image metadata such as GPS tags. It does not hide a street sign, face or address visible in the picture. PDF properties need Remove PDF metadata. If the upload still rejects the adjusted photo for its weight, finish with Compress image.
Guides for this job
- Strip GPS from an iPhone photo before you send itThe share sheet cleans one send, not the library, and compression promises nothing. Read the GPS field, strip it on the server, then check the file.
- Strip PDF metadata before you send the fileInspect PDF Author, Creator and XMP before sharing. Clear metadata from a permitted copy; keep signed originals and check the recipient’s rules.
- Remove location from Android photosGoogle Photos cannot remove a location recorded by the camera. Check the exported file; remove metadata from the copy you intend to share.
- Facebook Marketplace photo sizePrepare a listing photo for the platform's actual crop and upload rules. Keep the item visible, check the preview and remove GPS if needed.
