Compression tools
Choose the general image compressor, a tool for JPG, PNG, WebP, or SVG, or PDF compression. For a form with a size cap, use a tool preset to 50, 100, 200, or 500 KB.

Size cap
Choose a compressor for the upload limit
A smaller photo or an exact KB cap?
Use Compress image to adjust quality and compare the downloaded photo. If a form says maximum 50, 100, 200 or 500 KB, choose that size. A KB target can reduce the pixel dimensions or change the format; check both against the form before uploading.
Keep text and transparent edges readable
For a screenshot or transparent graphic, start with Compress PNG. Reducing the palette can change colours. For a camera photo without transparency, Compress JPG is often a better fit. If the file already meets the limit, keep the original rather than compressing it again.
When the file is a PDF
Compress PDF accepts one PDF up to 50 MB and 80 pages. Image compressors do not accept PDF documents. Read the small text in the result before sending it. If the problem is image width rather than file weight, use Resize image first.
