100 KB for CVs and picky email

A CV photo, a faculty form, or an inbox that strips large attachments often lands on 100 KB. This page is that cap. Files are deleted within 1 hour, same as the rest of Tinolia.

It is a better first try than 50 KB for a headshot that still has to look like you.

How to compress to 100 KB

  1. Drop the photo. Passport-style crops fit more easily than a full phone photo.
  2. Compress. We go at or under 100 KB.
  3. If we miss, resize to the pixel size the form asked for, then run again.
  4. Download the file, then delete.

100 KB vs 50 and 200

50 KB is the hostile government cap. 200 KB is WhatsApp-and-listings territory. 100 KB sits in the middle: most headshots, few posters.

You can drop HEIC here; it becomes JPEG. A PNG screenshot of a CV is the wrong file. Export a real JPEG photo.

Questions

Will LinkedIn still look decent?

A 100 KB JPEG headshot is usually fine on a CV. A banner or landscape photo may need 200 or 500 KB.

Why does the email still bounce?

Some servers count the whole message. Compress the image, and avoid embedding a second original in the same mail.

Is this the same as the quality slider?

No. This page searches for a file at the cap. The general compressor lets you choose a look first.

Can I add several photos to one CV?

Up to 10 at once. Each is compressed on its own.

Do you store the CV?

We never see a document type. The image is deleted within 1 hour.

Does this change the pixel size?

This page does not change width and height on purpose. Use Resize image if the form also names 300×400 or similar.
